Caring for Your Wooden Furniture

Outdoor wooden furniture is designed to live outside, but it will naturally respond to environmental conditions such as sun, rain, humidity, and seasonal temperature changes. With the correct care and maintenance, your furniture will retain its appearance and remain structurally sound for many years.
Regular maintenance is essential to prevent avoidable cosmetic changes.

Sherwood Wood Care Guidance
The Sherwood collection is crafted from Acacia timber, sourced from Vietnam, and finished with three coats of paint. Because this collection features a painted and textured surface, it is important to use products suitable for coated timber to maintain both appearance and protection.

• Cleaning: Clean using warm soapy water and a soft sponge or cloth. Gently wipe the surface to remove dirt and outdoor residue, then allow the furniture to dry naturally. Ensure good airflow during drying to help prevent moisture-related spotting.
• Avoid: Do not use abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or pressure washers, as these may damage or strip the painted finish.
• Maintaining the Colour: We strongly recommend using our Sherwood Treatment to prevent fading, maintain protection against the elements, and retain the original colour of the painted finish.
• Uniform Finish: If you choose to re treat the furniture, we recommend treating the entire furniture piece for the most consistent and uniform finish.
• Reapplication: To maintain the appearance and durability of the finish, it is essential to apply Sherwood Treatment annually. Proper care helps preserve the coating and provides ongoing resistance to UV exposure, moisture, and general weathering.
• Natural Weathering: If left untreated, Sherwood furniture will gradually weather to a natural silvery grey patina. This is a normal ageing process for outdoor timber and is not considered a manufacturing defect.
• Natural Characteristics: Small hairline cracks may appear in the painted finish over time as the timber naturally expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity. These minor movements are typical of outdoor wooden furniture and do not affect structural integrity.

Please note:
Cosmetic changes such as greying, weathering, and loss of colour that occur due to a lack of maintenance are not covered under warranty.
You may also notice black spotting on the timber surface. This can be caused by natural tannins or airborne spores and is a common characteristic of outdoor hardwoods. It does not affect structural integrity. If desired, these marks can be removed using an appropriate mould or mildew remover.

Free delivery on orders over £100

Orders under £100 are charged at £4.99

This covers most of England, Wales and Scotland. Some areas, including parts of mainland Scotland such as Perth, Paisley, Angus and the Highlands, have an additional delivery charge and are not included in free delivery or the £4.99 rate. Please check the postcode list below before ordering.

If you place an order to one of these postcodes without a quote, we'll contact you within 48 hours to confirm the delivery charge before anything is dispatched. You can then choose to pay the charge or cancel your order for a full refund.

Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, including Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and Sark.

STANDARD FREE DELIVERY – LARGE & PALLET DELIVERIES (KERBSIDE ONLY)

Some large pieces and sets are delivered on a pallet.

This is a kerbside service, which means:

• Delivery to the nearest accessible point at your property
• No carrying items inside
• No assembly included
• No removal of pallets or packaging

You’ll be contacted in advance to arrange a suitable weekday delivery date.

If you’d prefer installation and packaging removal, our White Glove option may be a better fit.

WHITE GLOVE DELIVERY SERVICE - £129

For a fully managed experience, choose our premium two-person delivery service:

• Delivery to your garden or location of choice
• Full assembly of your outdoor furniture
• Removal and responsible disposal of all packaging
• Our delivery partner will contact you to arrange a weekday delivery date

Please note: All Scottish addresses and the postcodes listed above are subject to quotation. Deliveries to Devon and Cornwall may require extended lead times - please allow 20-25 working days for delivery to these areas.

ACCESS REQUIREMENTS

Before delivery, please ensure:

• Doorways, gates and pathways are wide enough
• Access routes are clear
• Suitable parking is available for our delivery team

If access is restricted, for example upper floors without lift access or narrow staircases, additional charges may apply.

It’s important to flag any access limitations when ordering. Orders cannot be cancelled due to undisclosed access constraints, and we cannot accept responsibility for issues arising from restricted access.

DELIVERY COMPLETION

Delivery is considered complete once your order reaches the address listed on your order confirmation.
